According to RadarOnline, Lindsay Lohan has been released from the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California  after a 90-day stint in rehab.  This comes just moments after media reports that Lindsay would remain in rehab for a few more days to keep herself “safe.” So depending on who you read or believe, Lindsay is/isn’t leaving Betty Ford today/tomorow/next week/never.  Whatever.

Lets hope this time everything works out for the best for Lilo. Save Lindsay!

Anticipating her release, Lohan Tweeted New Year’s Day that “Today is the first day of the rest of my life. The future depends on what we do in the present.’ -Mahatma Gandhi… One step at a time…”

Her father Michael told CBS Early Show  on Monday it’s important for he and Lindsay’s mother Dina to put aside their long-running bad blood to present a united front for the sake of their recovering daughter.

Lindsay Lohan is going back  to rehab this AM — and TMZ is live at the Beverly Hills courthouse to cover her case. The Judge has ordered her to go back to Betty Ford Clinic until January 3rd, 2011, after New Years is over in order specifically to keep Lindsay from relapsing over the booze filled holidays.

The D.A recommended Lindsay get 180 days in county jail. The judge specifically stated he wanted Lindsay in rehab past the new year.

The judge said to Lindsay at one point, “You are an addict. I hope you understand that.” Lindsay nodded her head in agreement.

Lindsay’s estranged father, Michael Lohan, sat on the opposite side of the court from Lindsay’s mother, Dina.

Lindsay was in tears at the end of the hearing and simply told the judge, “Thank you.”

Our reporter in the court said Lindsay showed off her SCRAM bracelet to her mother during the hearing and motioned as if she really wanted it removed. We’re told that will happen soon

Lindsay is now in lockdown in the Lynwood Correctional Facility following Friday’s stunning decision which put the Mean Girls star back into custody with no bail after two failed drug tests.

According to RadarOnline, Lohan looked crushed as Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden Fox announced his decision, according to an eyewitness in court. Lohan was immediately handcuffed and taken into custody following the ruling.

She was then placed in an unmarked squad car, surrounded by police escorts, en route to the jail she spent 23 days in this past summer.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Lohan tested positive for cocaine at a random drug screening two weeks ago, then failed a second test which showed amphetamines in her system. The bad results came just two weeks following her release from court-ordered rehab.

Lindsay Lohan is in custody after Judge Elden Fox shockingly denied her bail, and Lindsay could be sitting there until October 22. After Lidsay admiddted to flunking two drug tetts, is this really a surprise?  The answer is yes; celebrites in LA almost never go to jail, so why Lindsay?  Answer: Nobody wants to see another Anna Nicole Smith. Lindsay was in court because she failed two drug tests — in one she tested positive for cocaine and the other for Adderall.

Judge Fox did not hear any argument from the lawyers before making his ruling. Lindsay was handcuffed in court before being taken into custody.

It’s shocking because the underlying offense is a misdemeanor, and people connected with the case were telling us the judge had to offer Lindsay bail.

As for Lindsay’s reaction … she was shocked when the judge remanded her into custody.  Lindsay looked at her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holly, before being taken out of the courtroom.

TMZ reports that Lindsay is going to rehab at UCLA:

TMZ has learned Judge Marsha Revel had a change of heart after TMZ’s story about Lindsay’s rehab — and now she is headed for treatment at UCLA Medical Center … exactly what her doctors wanted in the first place.

TMZ broke the story Judge Revel had selected Morningside Recovery — despite the fact that the two court appointed psychiatrists along with other medical professionals were not recommending that facility. The shrinks put UCLA in their top four, but it was the facility favored by everyone because the treatment program was perfectly suited for Lindsay’s psychiatric and drug problems.

We’re told Lindsay will not be in the psych ward — rather this is an intense specialized program to deal with psychological, as well as addiction problems.
